The participants in this conversation at Gondorff Castle were the Pope, Salomon, Praetorian Guard Hammurabi, and Father Morlu, head of the Vatican's Mysterious Department and military department. Praetorian Guard Hammurabi merely followed at a distance, while Father Morlu, tasked with supervising the Praetorian Guard, could only stay by Hammurabi's side and had no way of hearing the Pope and Salomon's conversation. Francis had long learned of Salomon's identity from Father Morlu, with the ritual conducted by a group of Cardinals serving as proof, so he had few doubts.

Yet the conversation between Salomon and the Pope was not as solemn as Father Morlu had imagined. Most of their earlier discussion focused on football, music, and children from the slums. This lighthearted atmosphere remained even when Salomon showed the Pope the City of Immortals' supercomputer simulation results for the Mika-Urie experiment.

This was a very famous experiment, the so-called Primordial Soup Experiment.

Although Darwin had proven that life constantly evolved, he had been unable to unravel the mystery of how evolution began. So, in the 1950s, two chemists, Mika and Urie, conducted a bold experiment in hopes of solving the mystery of life's origins by attempting to create life from nonliving chemical substances.

On March 8, 1953, the New York Times published an article titled "A Look Back Two Billion Years Ago." Its impact at the time was earth-shaking, especially upon the religious world. If life had miraculously been born in Mika and Urie's test tube, one conclusion could be drawn: we would no longer need a supernatural being descending from the heavens to grant humanity the fire of creation. It would prove that life was an inevitable product of natural laws. Likewise, it would lead to another conclusion: since life could arise spontaneously on Earth, life must also exist elsewhere
