"Equipment." Silver Sablinova, dressed in a silver-white skintight combat suit, pulled over a chair and settled into it comfortably. With languid body language, she faced the desk—and the superior seated behind it.
Although Silcaria's language differed somewhat from Latveria's, she had not activated the communications earpiece in her ear for real-time translation, because Latin was used throughout the administrative departments. Salomon had never faced the commander of the Wild Legion in any capacity other than that of an administrator. Perhaps that was the only reason she could relax around him. Silver Sablinova had never directly faced the terrifying pressure brought by that Power Armor.
In Silver Sablinova's eyes, the man sitting behind the desk was a tall, muscular scholar with glasses and callused hands. This was also the image of Salomon that Latverians most commonly saw in their daily lives.
A somewhat stern teacher.
Few leaders in this world were as approachable as Victor von Doom and Salomon, because they would truly walk the streets, smack troublesome children on the backside, share dinner with workers building the spaceport, and explain to them what the "Unified Truth" proclaimed by the speakers during the day actually meant.
The City of Immortals had ensured that Latverians could eat their fill, and private commercial activity had spontaneously resumed. This was the perfect time to make the Latverian people fully accept the "Unified Truth," so Salomon and Victor personally went among the populace to observe how civilians received the preachers and the "Unified Truth." Perhaps because they had lived through war, Latverians were generally quite receptive, especially in the capital and its surrounding regions. Most of those civilians had witnessed Salomon firsthand—but not everyone could understand the meaning of the "Unified Truth." Beyond the capital, many people remained shackled by religious superstition and ignorant customs.
