Diana List led them aboard a massive underground train. Its width had not been designed according to international standards. Aside from the inertia when it started moving, the ride was exceptionally smooth, as though it were gliding along the tracks—and that was indeed the case. The train's wheels and rails never touched; electromagnetic repulsion supported the carriages. Though the train looked minimalist and advanced from the outside, its interior was decidedly retro. The carriage they occupied was furnished entirely with expensive wooden furniture. Warm lighting and wallpaper, soft curtains over the windows, cigar cabinets and liquor cabinets bolted to the floor—all of it made them feel as though they were in the drawing room of a nineteenth-century mansion rather than an excessively wide train carriage.

She opened the liquor cabinet and brought them two bottles of wine, then went into another carriage, leaving the others behind without much interaction with this Avengers team. Just as they all assumed Diana List intended to leave them there, two attendants pushing heated serving carts entered the carriage. The carts held plenty of food that was not overly elaborate. When Sam Wilson asked about Mexican tacos, the attendant said the chef could make a serving immediately, and that the head chef would be delighted to have someone try his cooking.
