When the War Dogs organization's satellite control center outside Golden City was swallowed by a sudden explosion, the Wakandans living in Golden City knew nothing. Over the next twenty minutes, assassinations, kidnappings, and explosions followed one after another. Some nobles were reduced to charred corpses by mines disguised as trash cans or pulse weapons while riding hovercars; others had guns pointed at their heads in their homes by former War Dogs members disguised as servants. Upon receiving the news, the War Dogs organization immediately rushed from the royal palace to the scenes, only to find that the perpetrators had long since vanished.

The Royal Army and Royal Air Force maintained an eerie silence throughout this period.
