Her middle name represented the classification of the institution where she worked, Alpha distinguished her from another person named Jennifer, and the final part was her personal genetic equipment activation identification code, thirty thousand digits in total. Her primary research projects were "Optimization of Organic Wiring for Hard-Link Neural Synaptic Reward Transmission" and "One-Way Neural Signal Transmission Algorithms for Incubation Chambers." Their purpose was to reduce the high-temperature damage caused by Brain-Computer Interface feedback to the neural center, as well as select the most promising artificial fetuses during the incubation stage to populate Mars.
Because of her surgical skills, medical knowledge, and medical Cybernetic Prosthetics in her hands, Jennifer-C02-Alpha-███ had been chosen to board the Emperor's Pegasus-type Heavy Command Assault Transport. This meant she had earned the recognition of the Emperor and the Sacred Guard, and had the qualifications and ability to choose a new research subject. For every Martian Technician, this was the finest reward—especially since the Emperor would discuss academic matters with her, giving her the chance to gain more knowledge and receive greater inspiration. The miniature liquid thermal-circulation cooling implant at the back of her head whirred excitedly, blowing cold air to cool her overworked brain and cognitive enhancement implants. Only after the surgery was complete did the cooling implant slowly stop, since her brain no longer needed so much processing power to manipulate the biochemical prosthetics and linked equipment.
"He survived?" Hammurabi looked at the now-sutured body. "How long before he can move?"
"His heart is still beating, and his brain has suffered no damage. All biochemical organs are functioning normally." Pride constantly seeped through Jennifer-Alpha's vocal organs, which had not yet been replaced with prosthetics.
