The Hellfire Knights' organizational structure was highly adaptable to the battlefield. A tactical squad composed of ten Hellfire Knights was the legion's smallest organizational unit. A knight captain could command two tactical squads led by noncommissioned officers, a tactical support squad equipped with individual heavy weapons, an anti-gravity jet bike assault unit, an Armored Personnel Carrier crew, a knight adjutant, and an escort unit.
Each knight company commander could command ten knight captains, along with company guards, a Special Operations Team, reconnaissance squads, flight squads of various Assault Transports, medical squads, and mechanic squads containing five automated soldiers and a quartermaster. Since the Hellfire Knights were entirely mechanized troops, armored vehicle crews, tank crews, self-propelled artillery crews, and air-defense vehicle crews were also placed under the command of every knight captain and knight company commander. The First Knight Company Commander, Aparajita, commanded over eight hundred combat personnel, already matching the strength of a reinforced battalion in a conventional army.
Such a force was enough to capture a city. Once the new Gene-modded Warriors completed their secret training and psychological adjustment, the First Knight Company Commander, Aparajita, would be promoted to commander of the First Legion. Officers at every level would also undergo a round of rank adjustments. Their combat personnel would multiply several times over, allowing them to handle even more difficult situations. The highly flexible battle group could adapt to most battlefield environments. Thus, less than half of the Hellfire Knights' First Company had airborne-deployed for combat, while the other half remained aboard the Sky Sword Space Station awaiting orders. Every knight captain could exercise tremendous initiative.
