In the 1980s, former Soviet physicist Igor Dmitriyevich Novikov proposed the principle of temporal paradoxes, intended to resolve paradoxes associated with time travel. In 1975, Soviet physicist and physical chemist, Academician of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Yakov Borisovich Zeldovich, together with former Soviet theoretical astrophysicist and cosmologist Igor Dmitriyevich Novikov, first mentioned this idea in scientific literature. They believed that the existence of closed timelike curves did not necessarily violate the principle of causality; events along such a line could influence one another within a closed loop—that was "self-consistency."

This rule was also known as the Novikov Self-Consistency Principle.

Although growing evidence later suggested that the Novikov Self-Consistency Principle might not necessarily be correct, neither the parallel worlds theory nor the multiverse theory could rule out the disruptions caused by time travel described by the Novikov Self-Consistency Principle. In other words, the world they inhabited had already been altered by spacetime travel. Even if Time Travelers from the future or another timeline had yet to make their jump and take part in events of the past, the event that changed the present had already occurred.

"What did you learn?" While everyone else was immersed in the joy, excitement, and concern of finding the Emperor, the Sorcerer Supreme's first words were this question. The medical team clustered around the Emperor, the Praetorian Guard, and the Artificial Human did not hear it. It was an exchange conducted through Mental Power. In response, the Emperor's Mental Power painted a scene of an ancient city-state. Beyond exquisite mosaic walls, lush vegetation and farmland had been swallowed by muddy floodwaters stretching to the horizon. The Sorcerer Supreme stood as if she were truly there, atop ancient brick walls. Behind her rose towering hanging gardens, where thousands of gardeners
