Mary Hill saw the First Secret Regiment as the main force invading Lighthouse Base, with the Ranger Cavalry serving only as support. She could hardly be blamed for that, since the information she had encountered in the Sacred Guard Intelligence Department had centered on the first batch of Gene-modded Warriors—the knights towering far above ordinary humans. She had occasionally been involved in the First Secret Regiment's duties and deployments, so she had a clear understanding of this experimental army's capabilities and responsibilities. By contrast, she had never seen the Ranger Cavalry. Given their bizarre appearance and her own limited understanding of the Mars Foundry, Mary believed those semi-human soldiers were merely helpers to the First Secret Regiment.
She was not entirely wrong. Although the First Secret Regiment and the Ranger Cavalry had different mission objectives, their primary goals were almost identical. Following guidance from the rear, the First Secret Regiment searched the warehouses, attempting to find what the Praetorian Commander needed. The Ranger Cavalry, meanwhile, focused on Howard Stark's manuscripts—limited by the technology of their era, yet still shining with the light of wisdom.
Faced with mountains of paper documents, the Ranger Cavalry's information-processing abilities proved invaluable. Even the First Secret Regiment's officer had to let Alpha-Bronze 2 assign personnel to investigate them. The officer himself took command of part of the Ranger Cavalry, coordinating with the First Secret Regiment as they continued their siege of the armed personnel at Lighthouse Base.
But that did not mean the First Secret Regiment had ceded control to Mars. Some items required neither appraisal nor sorting and bore clear identification numbers. Reach out and take them—no one would know. It was that simple. Even the drone swarms deployed by the Ranger Cavalry could not detect that a few inconspicuous little objects had vanished
