Constantine did not enter the control room until Epsilon-Rodney-Radium 223 had taken control of all secondary systems. Led by Sergeant Ronald of the First Secret Regiment, he followed all the First Secret Regiment soldiers involved in the operation inside. From the moment the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. retook the medical bay to the moment he fully seized control of the situation, less than fifteen minutes had passed. At least half that time had been spent taking a detour—although the underground passages of the Lighthouse Base were tall enough for the Praetorian Guard to pass through, the numerous small staircases were simply too narrow for them. Constantine could only take the broad main corridor, clearing out the heavy machine-gun operators and man-portable Anti-Tank Missile operators Melinda May had arranged in a desperate last stand, sparing the First Secret Regiment many unnecessary casualties.
Sergeant Ronald grumbled as he followed behind Constantine. After a few gunshots and explosions, a long firefight corridor would become utterly safe, and even the piled-up barricades—made of stone bricks, steel plates, stuffed equipment crates, and the like—could no longer be called "cover." Some of the armed S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel were extraordinarily lucky to survive. The First Secret Regiment had to bind them with zip ties before continuing forward behind the Praetorian Guard.
Yet even after Constantine entered the control room, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did not surrender.
They continued firing at the First Secret Regiment soldiers and the Praetorian Guard. 5.56mm, 9mm, and 7.62mm—there were weapons of every caliber. Those weapons were little more than a minor nuisance to First Secret Regiment soldiers in fully enclosed polymer ballistic armor, much less the Praetorian Guard's Power Armor. Constantine leveled the Spear of the Garrison and fired several shots, then severed several weapons at a speed too fast for ordinary people to
