Daisy Johnson shook her head frantically.
"No, this will get Yo-Yo killed—and you too!" She knew what Alfonso Mackenzie intended to do. Even Yo-Yo's speed had been captured; now, Daisy's powers were the only thing that could stand against that Gene-modded Warrior. "Don't shoot." She raised her voice, trying to persuade Alfonso Mackenzie to lower the shotgun—at the very least, to keep his finger off the trigger. "I don't mind hearing what they have to say first." She raised her head and shouted at the approaching Praetorian Guard, "What exactly do you want? Are our friends safe?"
When the Golden Power Armor came within half a meter of Alfonso Mackenzie, he reluctantly lowered his weapon. The barrel of the shotgun was already pressed against the unconscious Elena Rodriguez. If he fired, the buckshot would inevitably tear Elena Rodriguez's fragile body to pieces rather than penetrate the Power Armor and harm the person inside.
Constantine extended an arm and handed over the unconscious woman.
Though somewhat surprised, Alfonso Mackenzie still took Elena Rodriguez into his arms and checked her injuries. Fortunately, aside from a small cut on her forehead caused by the ornate reliefs on the surface of the Power Armor, Elena Rodriguez had no obvious external injuries. Her unconsciousness was more a result of the acceleration created when she used her ability rebounding on her own body. No matter where her power came from, she was still essentially an ordinary person, with the fragile bones and organs of one. That ability was, by its nature, a form of damage to her body.
Constantine's actions eased the atmosphere somewhat. At least Alfonso Mackenzie now knew that the Praetorian Guard did not intend to kill the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., nor were they the gene-modded killers who delighted in slaughter described by
