Crystal covered her face, her tear-blurred eyes fixed on the observation window of the medical pod. This was the first time she had seen Medusa after her injury. Black and blood-red debris clouded the pale green medicinal fluid, yet Crystal could still make out the charred, emaciated, indistinct figure floating inside, twisting and convulsing in pain from time to time. Her once-beautiful crimson hair was nowhere to be seen. Even after being cleaned, her swollen blackened skin and the wounds constantly seeping blood remained horrifying to behold.
