The Gene-modded Warriors, like steel colossi, were hurled away by an invisible force and slammed into a mountain of building ruins formed from twisted metal. Sound waves pinned them firmly against the wreckage, while visible milky-white shockwaves compressed their ceramic-alloy armor bit by bit. Dense cracks appeared across the Gene-modded Warriors' Power Armor, and even the supposedly indestructible armored vehicles were thrown aside like pebbles launched from a naughty child's slingshot.

Though the terrifying shockwaves had failed to completely damage the Power Armor, and the armor was renowned for its sturdiness and durability, it was still an early model. Many of its components had not been produced through fully automated assembly lines. Some chip solder joints might have had flaws. Under the impact of the shockwaves, the image on the tactical squad captain's helmet HUD immediately began to flicker before finally going dark.
Without hesitation, the tactical squad captain removed his helmet and fired toward the source of the sound. Enduring the pain, he strode forward quickly. Only after emptying a magazine did
