The cold steel gates retracted, and the landing pad opened wide like the gaping maw of a hungry beast lying in wait, awaiting prey that would walk into its trap. This was Jiaying's first time seeing the Kree. Their blue skin and humanoid features made it clear why they had chosen Earthlings as subjects for genetic engineering experiments. These blue-skinned alien beings walked down into the valley, toward the primitive humans who had come seeking shelter.

Because of a certain animistic faith, the primitive humans began to worship and fear the area enclosed by shields.

They gathered in caves and clearings carved out of the fir forest at the foot of the cliffs. All the primitive humans who had harbored bloodthirsty desires and once attacked the laboratory had been killed by technology beyond their comprehension. Thus, myths were born among these primitive people. They believed gods lived atop the cliffs, mastering the secrets of lightning and wisdom. Though they had never seen a single god, the immense ship chasing the sun glimpsed only fleetingly in their ancestors' legends had been painted upon the cave walls.

"I'm very interested in this part of history," Jiaying said. "You seem much easier to talk to than before."
