But when the Emperor decided to consolidate Earth's magical schools, some schools that sought to resist the Emperor's orders activated those dangerous spells. The meeting held at Vatoum Temple proved just how perilous the knowledge concealed by Earth's magical schools was. The experiments they conducted and the knowledge they possessed had already violated taboos, and some magical schools had delved far too deeply into knowledge of the Outer Dimensions.
There were many alien creatures in the Milky Way that maintained close connections with the Outer Dimensions, and to Psionics, they were undoubtedly ideal research material. Earth's spellcasters had often summoned them to Earth through magic for experimentation, then modified human bodies to strengthen their own connection to the Outer Dimensions.
