Much of the blood that had slid into the gaps between armor plates had not even congealed yet. By standard procedure, they should have undergone biohazard decontamination to prevent radioactive dust and disease-causing microorganisms from entering vital facilities, but no one had the time or equipment for that now. There had been more than five thousand cultists, while the special operations squad had fewer than thirty people. Clearing them all out without losing a single one during thirty minutes of slaughter was already efficient enough. Besides, they had been required to conserve ammunition, and the cultists had not been unarmed. Even Gene-modded Warriors could grow tired.
As if noticing the Praetorian Guard's gaze, the knight commander and master of the First Legion pointed at the priestess being escorted by two Battle Sisters. "The cultists' leader possesses psionic abilities. Threat level: crimson," Aparajita said. "I got clawed a few times by those big claws just for this thing."
