Tony Stark was a scholar with an insatiable curiosity.

Though he had always denied that scholar was an appropriate word to describe him. After all, compared to a glamorous Womanizer and wealthy magnate, the public's stereotypical image of a scholar still involved a receding hairline and thick glasses—an image with nothing to do with a youthful, attractive cheerleading captain.

But no matter what, he possessed a heart that sought to explore things. When Sophia granted him access to part of the database, he hungrily dug through the data archives. Then he found a file that could answer questions that had troubled him for a long time. It was a file about Peter Parker, Wanda Maximoff, and Pietro Maximoff.

He was a scientist, so it was difficult for him to understand why Peter Parker possessed abilities that defied scientific common sense. Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff's abilities likewise could not be explained by any science he knew. This file gave him part of the answer. Several days had passed since their last conversation. When Steve Rogers entered Tony Stark's cramped cabin again, he found Stark with bloodshot eyes, unshaven cheeks, disheveled hair, and half-eaten compressed rations scattered across his desk.

"What happened, Tony?"

"Answers." Tony Stark rubbed his eyes. "What would you think if I told you that every superpower in the world came from experiments conducted on primitive life by gods who descended upon Earth hundreds of millions of years ago? All right, I know you don't really have a frame of reference for that..."

Taking the tablet, Steve Rogers saw the overview page Tony Stark had selected for him. "Research on the Relationship Between the X-gene, Wild Gods, and the Celestials' Second Coming. First author: Anonymous." Steve Rogers read out the only part he could understand. "What is this?"
