Salomon's sudden appearance gave Wanda quite a fright. The shrimp dumpling she had painstakingly picked up with her chopsticks fell when the portal abruptly opened. She watched Salomon drag a woman with unfocused eyes through the portal, one of the woman's shoes missing. From afar, Wanda could smell the magic clinging to the woman, and a string of visions flashed before her eyes—haze, the moon, ravens. Having received a basic magical education, Wanda was able to guess the magical entity's identity. The magical aura around the woman did not interfere with her, because she was currently sitting amid a pile of immensely powerful magical artifacts while eating. A two-headed snake with yellow-and-black stripes occasionally slithered over to talk to her, while the pale phantoms of three women wandered between the bookshelves. After her initial fright, she had begun to grow accustomed to such strange things.
"Where is Wong?" Salomon asked.
"He's... Why did you change into a new suit?" Wanda had long since changed out of the women's suit Salomon had bought for her and into Kamar-Taj's utterly genderless short robes. These clothes made Wanda feel much more at ease. For an Eastern European country girl who had only just grown accustomed to city life, women's suits and high heels were simply torture.
"I'm going on a date. I'm in a hurry. Remember to give this to Wong. Her prophecy is important, so make sure Wong asks Master Hamir to interpret and divine it. Under no circumstances are you to read those prophecies, understand?" The Arcanist spoke rapidly. He folded a sheet of paper covered in writing and handed it to Wanda, then pointed at the madwoman beside him. "She'll be your neighbor for now. She's staying in the room next to yours."
