"Do you know the difference between the Asgardians and the Olympian Gods?"
It was a rather baffling question, but Salomon answered nonetheless.
With practiced ease, he recited a passage from one of the three hundred books on the Earth Pantheon written by the Sorcerer Supreme. He had chosen that passage precisely because these two utterly opposite research subjects—the Asgardians and the Olympian Gods—inevitably invited comparison.
"The Asgardians possessed bodies before they possessed souls, while the Olympian Gods possessed souls before they possessed bodies. Therefore, the Asgardians have limits to their lifespans, whereas the Olympian Gods do not. The origin of the Asgardians is linked to the First Godslaying Movement, serving as further proof that Chaos Power can move toward order."
"Simple, but correct. Suitable for mortals to understand," Athena remarked. "You are not a mortal, so I need you to take it further, combining it with the knowledge I granted you rather than stopping at the books compiled by the Sorcerer Supreme."
The Sorcerer Supreme's investigation into the origins of various pantheons had proven that the Olympian Gods' bodies took shape later than their souls. Their bodies were merely garments for their souls; their flesh contained none of the genome of the gods of the earth. The Asgardians were precisely the opposite. They possessed bodies first, then gathered worship, attempting to ignite the spark of divinity before ascending to divine thrones.
By comparison, the Asgardians clearly possessed greater potential than the Olympian Gods. Although Kamar-Taj's observations showed that, despite the Asgardian royal family calling themselves gods, most Asgardians still could not stand alongside other pantheons, Odin's long-standing plan was nevertheless enough to grant the Asgardians some authority over the Sea of Souls.
If things truly developed as Odin intended, all of Asgard would ascend into an immortal divine race and
