There was no place safer than the Kamar-Taj Sanctum—at least, that had been true before a certain Sorcerer Supreme candidate arrived. Wanda looked around in confusion, having no idea what she was supposed to do. In the end, Salomon pulled her over and told her to watch over Jeanne's body.

It was no easy task. To Extra-dimensional Beings, Jeanne, with her Witch bloodline, was filled with terrifying temptation. Vast amounts of Trans-dimensional Bacteria repeatedly slammed against the arcane barrier, trying to devour the Witch magic running out of control and Jeanne's remaining consciousness. Only the Kamar-Taj Sanctum could sustain such a powerful protective spell for an extended period, buying time for Salomon and Bayonetta's operation. Wanda's task was to remain alert for any failure in the protective spell and, if necessary, use every means at her disposal to protect Jeanne.

Salomon rejected Bayonetta's suggestion of moving Jeanne's body to The Gates of Hell Bar. Even Rodin, a fallen angel, could not compare to Kamar-Taj in magical expertise. Though Bayonetta was usually rather competitive, when it came to magic, she trusted Salomon's judgment more.

It was not as if Rodin had offered no help. The alcohol he sent could slow the erosion of Jeanne's body caused by her uncontrolled Witch magic. Besides that, the angel souls from the previous invasion of New York became currency for the deal. With the souls of large numbers of Lower Angels, a small number of mid-ranking angels, and Upper Angels as bargaining chips, Rodin readily provided Bayonetta with a large batch of weapons and equipment for the coming battle. The only trouble was that Rodin could not enter the Kamar-Taj Sanctum unless he had a death wish. The Sanctum Sanctorum had not deteriorated to the point where it would permit Extra-dimensional Beings to enter.
