Background

Yu Xiaogang is a young martial soul theorist encountered by Bibi Dong and Su Chen in the Martial Soul Hall Library Pavilion. Bibi Dong initially praises his theoretical insight and brings Su Chen to him for guidance on the unprecedented Nine Nether Red-Clad Ghost Emperor martial soul. 3

His own martial soul is a mutated piglet-like creature, and his Innate Soul Power was only level 0.5. He reached level 29 around the age of twenty, attributing the achievement to years of hard work despite his limited talent. 3

Pursuit of the Restricted Archives

After months without meaningful contact from Bibi Dong, Yu Xiaogang waits in the Library Pavilion for an opportunity to speak with her. He asks to accompany Bibi Dong and Su Chen to the top floor but is refused because the floor is restricted to high-ranking Martial Soul Hall members. 19 20

He argues that Martial Soul Hall should publicly share its theoretical records for the benefit of all soul masters. Su Chen counters by asking whether Yu Xiaogang would distribute the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's land and wealth, leaving Yu Xiaogang enraged and unable to respond. 20

Encounter with the Purple-Robed Bishop

Following his rejection from the top floor, Yu Xiaogang is approached by a scar-faced Purple-Robed Bishop. The Bishop exploits Yu Xiaogang's desire for access by proposing an intimate arrangement; Yu Xiaogang rejects the offer and leaves in humiliation. 21
