As a diviner, Basil had devoted all his strength to the unorthodox path.
His frontal combat ability was not particularly strong.
But he excelled at avoiding danger and using all kinds of mysterious methods to launch sneak attacks, and he was becoming increasingly skilled at using his head.

"I'm actually surprised you managed to get this far." Basil looked at Esdeath. "With your personality, could it be that you avoided the monsters you encountered along the way?"
"You think you know me very well." Esdeath remained seated high on her throne, but she crossed her slender legs and revealed a cold, alluring smile. "Then I can only say that you're too naïve. Hunting is a process filled with wisdom."
Esdeath did indeed enjoy battle, but she was not mindless.
She was also an excellent general.
She enjoyed slaughter, hunting, and the joy of victory, but every battle was a work of art to her.
Especially after arriving at the Merchant Guild and witnessing all kinds of powerhouses stronger than herself, her mindset had improved greatly compared to before. Those mad battles had all been built on the premise that she could be resurrected.
Naturally, reaching this point along the way had relied on more than just strength and luck.
"Since that's the case, cooperate with me." Basil extended his invitation. "According to the information I've obtained, Konan and Jiraiya from Konoha have already joined forces, and they're after me. Jiraiya has a class similar to mine, so he may find my location soon. You alone can't possibly be a match for the two of them."
