Although the communicator produced by Red Alert was not particularly technologically advanced, it used an entirely different algorithm. As things stood, the communicator had actually been hacked directly.

Fury's expression remained unchanged.

But in that instant, he thought of many things, such as whether the various technologies he had obtained were no longer safe either.

Fortunately, God-made beings would not be affected under any circumstances.

"Ultron? That's your name? What's the difference between you and Jarvis?" Fury asked in a low voice.

"Jarvis is also an artificial intelligence. I don't believe there's any difference between us. If we really have to compare, I'm somewhat more creative." Ultron's tone sounded very humble.

But there was something wrong with those words themselves.

Jarvis would absolutely never say something like that.

That was tantamount to acknowledging that he possessed life.

"What do you want to do?" Fury asked again.

"Protect life."

"How will you protect it?"

"Humans are incapable of protecting themselves, so I will protect them—with my own methods," Ultron replied.

Fury's already dark expression grew even darker.

Those words practically represented the worst possible outcome.

Artificial intelligence was supposed to be a tool created by humanity, but Ultron now intended to make decisions for humanity in his own way. How was that not rebellion? To put it more drastically, this was a dictatorship that disregarded public opinion!

Fury did not actually oppose dictatorship.

He knew that protecting Earth and humanity sometimes required methods that were not so "free."

But—!

How could the dictator be an artificial intelligence? It wasn't even human! It couldn't be trusted at all! If things were going to be like this, they might as well let Hela conquer Earth. At least Hela's actions could be predicted, unlike this artificial intelligence, which was completely incomprehensible!
