"Look at this." Shen Mo gazed at Garou. "Do you still think justice is bound to triumph?"
"What does that matter?" Garou clenched his fists, staring at the scene of Genos self-destructing. "Even if it suffers a temporary defeat, won't the heroes ultimately defeat the monsters?"
Garou's hatred of heroes actually stemmed from the bullying he had suffered as a child.
When he was young, his body was nowhere near as strong as it was now.
In children's hero-and-monster games, he had always played the monster.
And he had always been defeated by the children playing the heroes.
So why did monsters have to lose?
"This is only temporary." Shen Mo shook his head. "Whether they're monsters or heroes, since they're opposing sides that can't coexist peacefully, there will always have to be a winner and a loser."
"Right now, the heroes have the advantage, which is why this kind of propaganda exists. But what if, one day, a monster appeared that all the heroes combined couldn't defeat?"
"Then everything would be reversed."
Shen Mo raised his hand and tapped once more.
A new scene appeared.
It was a world ruled by monsters, where powerful beasts roared amid the ruins of cities.
There were no heroes left among humanity who could stand up.
Instead, humans were raised as food inside cages, only to be torn apart by the monsters at will.
Even so.
No one resisted.
Every person wore a numb expression, and some even showed looks of relief when facing death.
Others held up all kinds of signs and slogans, but they weren't promoting resistance.
They proclaimed that humans were nothing more than food, and that only by accepting this "correct destiny" could they reach the blissful heaven after death.
Garou's eyes widened.
