Sakura Haruno couldn't help laughing at Rock Lee's dumbfounded expression.
"Stop staring. These are for you!"
Rock Lee's face flushed bright red.
He reached out a trembling hand to take the bouquet.
But as soon as he loosened his grip, he lost his balance. Not only did he fail to take the flowers, he also toppled sideways.
Sakura smiled and immediately stepped forward to catch him.
"Sorry... Sakura!"
Rock Lee felt rather embarrassed now and hung his head low.
Sakura was much less awkward. She helped him over to the railing beside the bridge.
Once he was standing steadily, she handed him the flowers.
She smiled. "Sasuke's already gone home to recuperate. It's all thanks to Lady Tsunade. Judging by how he looked, he should be ready for missions again soon!"
Something flickered in Rock Lee's eyes, but he quickly smiled along with her.
"I-is that so? That's wonderful."
Sakura Haruno looked down at the water beneath the bridge, admiration written across her face.
"Lady Tsunade really is amazing. Kakashi-sensei and Sasuke were unconscious for so long, but she healed them both!
Once Lady Tsunade takes a look at you, I'm sure you'll get better right away too."
Rock Lee's gaze grew complicated. His injuries were far more complex than Sasuke's or Kakashi's.
But Sakura Haruno didn't know the details. She continued.
"Of course, if there's anything you need my help with, please don't hesitate to ask."
Rock Lee blushed even more deeply. He looked earnestly at Sakura and bowed.
"Thank you, Sakura!"
"All right, I'll see you later!"
Sakura waved to Rock Lee, then turned and left.
The light in Rock Lee's eyes kept flickering. In that moment, something had touched his heart.
Some strange force made him feel that he was on the verge of making a decision.
