Background / History

Sasuke is an Uchiha driven by the destruction of his clan and the murder of his parents by his elder brother, Itachi Uchiha. He has lived with the singular aim of killing Itachi, treating revenge as the reason he must survive and grow stronger. 33 36 37

During the Chunin Exams invasion, Orochimaru identifies Sasuke as a target he intends to take from Konoha. Orochimaru later has Sasuke fitted with a collar, while Sasuke's Cursed Seal manifests in battle as a source of dangerous additional chakra. 6 11 26

Sasuke damages Gaara with Chidori and activates the Cursed Seal for additional power, but collapses from exhaustion and is left vulnerable until Lin Mu intervenes. 10 11 12

Itachi's Return

After learning that Itachi has returned to Konoha and is seeking Naruto, Sasuke urgently searches for Naruto. He arrives at the inn and attacks Itachi with Chidori, but Itachi completely neutralizes him. 31 32 33
