Almost every supervillain had a code name of his own.
As the saying went, a name could be wrong, but a nickname never was.
Supervillains' code names generally suited their defining traits perfectly: Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, and so on.
Most supervillains didn't mind them.
In a sense, having a code name was a mark of a big shot.
Usually, only criminals with real strength and enough fame deserved a nickname of their own.
If a supervillain didn't even have a code name, what made him any different from some two-bit punk on the street?
Bane:
Still, there were exceptions to every rule.
Penguin absolutely hated his nickname.
To him, that code name was like pointing at a fat man and calling him a fat pig, pointing at a short man and calling him a runt, or pointing at a mute and going "aba, aba." It was practically tap-dancing through a minefield.
Someone had once used that code name to Penguin's face. That very night, he had encased the man in concrete and dumped him into Gotham's waters to feed the fish.
Of course, some people could say it without anything happening.
Batman, for instance, had called him that to his face countless times, but Penguin had always been very forgiving and let it slide.
Mostly because he couldn't beat him.
Then there were his fellow villains: Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Scarecrow, and the rest.
Every last one of those bastards was insane. Penguin could get furious, but all he could do with that fury was swallow it.
But who the hell was Du Mu?
A mere Gotham cop dared call him by his code name to his face?
The sheer AUDACITY!
"If you didn't hear me, I'll say it again."
Ignoring Penguin's fiery glare, Du Mu enunciated each syllable. "Lit-tle pen-guin!"
