Background
Du Mu was a prominent hardcore gamer in 2065 with millions of followers and experience clearing numerous games. A Marvel-affiliated company recruited him to test the holographic virtual game Marvel World, offering a ten-million-dollar bonus if he could clear it in one run. He entered the game with virtually no knowledge of Marvel’s setting or characters. 1
The Game System established him as a Level 5 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. From the beginning, he approached its world as a highly realistic game: he prioritized quests, treated major enemies as bosses, and freely exploited its inventory, mission, and travel systems. 1
Appearance
Du Mu has no single fixed combat appearance; he regularly layers armor, robes, masks, and transformed identities through the Game System. His stated height is 180 cm. 146
- Frequently wears a rune-covered Magic Mask, particularly when operating as the Hellfire Club’s leader. 113
- His standard high-end combat ensemble includes the black Gantz Suit, Magic White Robe, and Magic Mask. 222 378
- The Shielding Spell turns him into a blinding white humanoid silhouette marked by writhing black mask-runes. 150
- When using Energy Tentacles, black limbs emerge from beneath his robes, giving him a visibly inhuman silhouette. 230
- Can reproduce the appearance of NPCs he has seen, including Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanoff, and Red Skull. 171 224 254
Personality
Du Mu views crises through a player’s logic. He is enthusiastic about high-value quests, rare equipment, experience gains, and exploitable mechanics, and he often dismisses exposition with “skip the plot.” 1 263
He is irreverent, boastful, and prone to taunting enemies and allies alike. His humor regularly undermines tense situations, from insisting that his Magic Sword is not a “fluorescent tube” to impersonating other people for tactical advantage. 90 210 254
Despite his recklessness, Du Mu is highly pragmatic. He withdraws when an opponent is beyond his current ability, manipulates factions for material or political gain, and recruits useful people through debt relief, rewards, protection, or promised opportunities. 96 199 230
Abilities & Skills
Player System
Du Mu possesses access to a game-like system that provides quests, experience, attributes, equipment, storage, dungeon travel, and social functions.
- Stores and summons weapons, armor, vehicles, and companions from his Game Inventory. 93 312
- Teleports through the map system and later gains free travel between the X-Men future world and its originating server. 290
- Can manipulate equipped items through the system interface, including removing and restoring equipment on other characters when permitted. 141
- Acquired an Interaction System and friend system capable of cross-world communication through group chats. 323 324
- His normal map teleportation can be restricted by combat status; the Random Teleport Scroll bypasses this restriction. 95
Enhanced Physical Combat
Du Mu is an exceptionally powerful close-range fighter whose strength is amplified by attributes, equipment, and mask-based buffs.
- Defeated Hulk with a temporary Red Mushroom strength boost, though the item’s duration was limited. 38
- Later matched Hulk in a direct contest of strength through a Strength stat above 100 and the Gantz Suit’s reinforcement. 227
- Uses fists, elbows, kicks, axes, swords, and improvised weapons effectively in close combat. 150 222 227
- Can shatter large boulders with a single punch while using the Shielding Spell and Magic Mask. 150
- His early dual-wielding technique was unrefined because he had not unlocked the appropriate sword skill, but his raw attributes compensated. 117
Marksmanship and Eye of Death
Du Mu is a highly accurate firearms user, especially when supported by the Eye of Death.
- The Eye of Death provides lock-on targeting, allowing him to shoot airborne Chitauri soldiers without aiming manually. 93
- Uses Golden Desert Eagles for rapid precision fire and a Loitering Munition launcher for area clearing. 93
- Routinely adapts his targeting when an enemy’s head or armor is protected, such as shooting Hammerhead’s knee instead of his alloy skull. 10
Sorcery
Du Mu studies at Kamar-Taj and combines magic with physical combat rather than specializing in conventional spellcasting alone.
- Creates Magic Swords for melee combat and can summon them repeatedly after they are destroyed or released. 90 211
- Uses Illumination as a blinding offensive spell capable of disrupting opponents such as Magneto. 117 211
- Activates the Shielding Spell to assume a luminous, heavily reinforced form. 150
- Learned spells from Kamar-Taj’s library and later from Hela, rapidly expanding his magical knowledge. 86 232 314
- Has been offered the position of Sorcerer Supreme by alternate versions of the Ancient One, but has not accepted it. 231 232
Mental Defenses
Du Mu’s mind is unusually difficult to affect, largely because of his player nature and equipment.
- The Dullard Ring nullified Charles Xavier’s telepathy rather than merely resisting it. 97
- Emma Frost’s telepathic probes similarly fail to gain purchase on his mind. 103
- The Black-Robed Woman could not drain his “light,” as his status as a player left him without a fixed alignment for her power to exploit. 117
- The Magic Mask detects surrounding magical energy and mental fluctuations. 95
Shapeshifting and Identity Infiltration
Through character customization, Skin Cards, and other system functions, Du Mu can infiltrate targets using exact physical disguises.
- Can generate an exact model of any NPC he has seen, including Bucky Barnes. 171
- Transformed into Red Skull after killing him and used the identity to seize control of the White House. 224
- Can imitate Natasha Romanoff’s appearance and voice using a Bowtie Voice Changer. 254
- Possesses Tony Stark and Professor X Skin Cards, allowing him to transform into them and access their abilities. 334
Sand Manipulation
Du Mu gained the Lord of Sand skill after increasing his Spirit attribute.
- Creates massive sand constructs, including a Sand Giant capable of fighting Hulk. 254 255
- Forms sand arms, walls, vortices, and debuffs to restrain stronger physical opponents. 255
- Used a sand vortex to force Hulk back into Bruce Banner form. 255
- Combined sand manipulation with defensive abilities to counter Gravik’s energy attacks. 259
Energy Tentacles
Energy Tentacles are black, controllable limbs that extend from beneath Du Mu’s robes.
- Each tentacle functions as an extension of his body and can perform delicate actions, including wielding weapons and firing guns. 230
- A single tentacle can dent reinforced Hydra castle walls. 230
- He can currently summon up to six at once. 230
- Each tentacle possesses half of his main body’s Strength, but summoning more than six sharply reduces their power and control precision. 230
Equipment, Weapons, and Items
- Magic Mask — Raises Spirit, detects magical and mental activity, and activates a major physical-strength increase through The Ox Fighter Never Takes Off His Mask. 95

- Magic White Robe — Bound to Du Mu’s spiritual power, improves physical attributes, and provides physical and magical resistance. 211

Relationships

- Tony Stark — Du Mu rescued Tony from captivity, later served as his bodyguard, fought alongside him during the Battle of New York, and repeatedly teases or manipulates him. 6 14 93 141

- Pietro Maximoff — Initially skeptical of Du Mu’s rule, Pietro ultimately supports him and becomes Sokovia’s “Pioneer Captain.” 138 139

- Emma Frost — A telepath immune to neither Du Mu’s mental defenses nor his influence. She helped him take control of the Hellfire Club and managed it during his absence. 103 113 267
- Ancient One — Du Mu’s Kamar-Taj benefactor and prospective mentor. Multiple versions of the Ancient One have offered him the role of Sorcerer Supreme. 86 231 232

- Bruce Wayne / Batman — A wary DC-world counterpart who discovers Du Mu’s Spider-Man identity; Du Mu responds by exposing Bruce as Batman, leading to grudging mutual respect. 352
