Demons tempted people into depravity, while the Church urged them toward goodness.

This war over souls had gone on for countless ages, always limited to minor skirmishes. Angels and demons rarely set foot in the human world themselves.

But now, the balance that had endured for years had been broken.

Demons descending directly into the human world was undoubtedly an open violation of the agreement between Heaven and Hell.

"Buddy, Hell has been getting more and more restless lately. My instincts tell me there's definitely some huge conspiracy behind this."

Though John Constantine said that, the excitement on his face was impossible to conceal.
