High above Metropolis, Bruce was piloting the Batplane in a fierce dogfight against several Kryptonian ships.
Aside from Faora, the other Kryptonians had yet to master flight and could only rely on these small ships to intercept him.
Energy cannons wove a dense web of firepower, frantically sweeping after the Batplane's trail.
Bruce slammed the control stick down, sending the Batplane into a near-vertical dive. Two energy beams skimmed past the canopy.
Using the momentum of the dive, he pulled the trigger. The massive cannon beneath his crotch... no, beneath the Batplane rapidly finished charging, and a white energy beam pierced the nearest Kryptonian ship. It exploded in midair, its wreckage trailing black smoke as it scattered downward.
Before he could celebrate, two energy blasts struck the Batplane's right wing at the same time.
The fuselage shuddered violently, and the fighter began banking to the right as the stall warning shrieked piercingly.
Bruce gripped the control stick with both hands and barely managed to pull the nose level again.
But the Batplane was already badly damaged. The hydraulic system was leaking, engine power had plummeted, and it could no longer withstand high-intensity maneuvers.
As the remaining Kryptonian ships closed in from all sides, Bruce gritted his teeth and prepared for a desperate last stand.
Just then, an outrageously arrogant voice suddenly rang out from below.
"Who else!?"
There was something about that tone that made it naturally begging for a punch.
Upon hearing that voice, the Kryptonian ships that had already formed an encirclement suddenly froze at the same time.
The next second, they abruptly changed direction, pushed their engines to maximum power, and sped without hesitation toward the source of the voice.
In the blink of an eye, the airspace that had been filled with cannon fire became completely
