Although Hector had never heard that old saying, he understood the principle.
According to A.R.G.U.S. records, Omni-Man was someone who could even kill Satan's son. Hector did not think he was a match for Satan's son, not even Satan's great-great-great-grandson.
There were only two paths before him now.
Either he kept talking big, pointed at Du Mu's nose, and called him an idiot. It would accomplish nothing, but at least he could die with some dignity.
Or he could admit defeat on the spot. It would be humiliating, but at least he could keep his life.
Between his pride and his life, Hector decisively chose the latter.
Hal flew down through the huge hole in the ceiling behind Du Mu, arriving just in time to hear that.
His expression turned strange. "After everything you've done, you still call yourself a friend of justice?"
Hector retorted righteously, "What did I do? These people brought me here to dissect an Alien corpse. I honestly did my job, but I was accidentally infected by an Alien virus during work and turned into this freak."
"After such a serious workplace accident, not only did they refuse to compensate me, they even shackled me to an operating table and used me as a lab rat. What's wrong with self-defense?"
Hal blinked.
When Hector put it that way, it did seem to make some sense.
The more Hector spoke, the more worked up he became. Pointing at Amanda Waller, he said, "And this Black old lady even wanted to implant a nanobomb in me and force me to work for her. Someone like that is obviously the villain. I'm fighting for justice."
That was not wrong either.
