After the gathering ended, Hal wasted no time and set off for Oa again to discuss the alliance with the Guardians of the Universe, telling them that Darkseid had set his sights on Earth.

Once Earth fell, the galaxy would be next, followed by the entire universe.

In short, if Earth was finished, the universe would be finished too.

The Guardians of the Universe thought that was a bit of a stretch.

Did he really think Earth was the center of the universe?

How could the survival or destruction of some fringe planet possibly affect the operation of the entire universe?

However, the Green Lantern Corps' duty was to maintain universal order. They could not simply stand by and watch Darkseid run rampant, so they stated that if Apokolips made any move to attack Earth, the Green Lantern Corps would immediately send support.

He also requested that future missions be issued remotely, so he would not have to check in at the station every day.

Gordon had worked at the police department for half his life, but he had never heard such an outrageous request.

Just as he was about to refuse outright, the phone on his desk suddenly rang. He picked it up and discovered that it was his superior, telling him to comply with every request Officer Du Mu made.
