Barry had already changed into Reverse-Flash's suit, then used chemicals to dye it in The Flash's classic red-and-yellow color scheme. Only then did he deactivate his passive invisibility.
After being struck by lightning so many times, he had been completely darkened. The only white parts left on his body were the whites of his eyes and his teeth. Given his metabolism, it would probably take some time before he could fully wash himself clean.
But that was not necessarily a bad thing.
In America, darkening always made you ten times stronger, while getting cleansed made you thirty percent weaker. Barry had received an epic-level buff this time.
Thomas stood to one side, having grown impatient long ago.
Seeing Barry finish changing, he immediately asked, "Can we go back to the past and alter the timeline now?"
Barry said nothing. His figure flashed away, only to reappear in the same spot the next instant, his expression grim.
"No. I tried it. My speed is too slow right now. I can't break through the time barrier at all."

He did not finish his sentence.
There was actually an easier method: kill Reverse-Flash outright and let the Speed Force inside him return to nature. That way, Barry could absorb more of it.
Barry did not say it aloud, but with Thomas's mind, he guessed it after only a moment's thought.
Thomas narrowed his eyes slightly and did
