Listening to the Joker's maniacal laughter, Bruce's expression was terrifyingly calm.
He did not take the Joker's words seriously, assuming the Joker was merely provoking him with his parents' deaths. Naturally, he would not fall for it.
Seeing that Bruce showed no reaction, the Joker laughed to himself a few more times before gradually stopping.
"Of course, there's a punishment for failing the game, too."
As the Joker's words fell, an image suddenly appeared on the screen.
Two figures were tightly bound to chairs in the footage. One was Damian, and the other was Alfred.
Their mouths were sealed with tape, their eyes closed. They had clearly lost consciousness.
The Joker pinched his throat, his tone exaggerated and strange. "As far as I know, you have three people closest to you. One is the old butler who raised you from diapers, and another is the biological son you just met."
Bruce: "."
Why did that line sound so strange? It felt oddly familiar.
Bruce stared at the screen with icy eyes. "Let them go, Joker."
"That won't do."
The Joker replied with a grin, "They're important guests in my game. Without them, this game would be a lot less fun."
Then, the camera angle moved downward, revealing that both Damian and Alfred had bombs strapped to them.
A countdown was displayed on the bombs: 10:00.
The Joker explained excitedly, "They each have a bomb on them. Before the countdown ends, you need to find where they are and defuse the bombs. Otherwise, once time runs out, the bombs on them will... Boom!"
"Then you'll be all alone again, just like Little Bruce walking out of Crime Alley all those years ago."
Seeing his two loved ones in danger, rage surged through Bruce's heart.
But he did not lose his reason.
