After leaving the bookstore, Shita Genichi couldn't help grinding his teeth in frustration.
He'd gone to a lot of trouble to learn about Medical Ninjutsu, human anatomy, and other subjects.
He'd gotten plenty of materials from Shizune, but he couldn't just rely on copying books.
Konoha didn't have a library, so he had to buy them.
And some books weren't easy to find.
Specialized books were ridiculously expensive, and his allowance wasn't nearly enough. He'd even borrowed some money from Shizune.

Back home, Shita Genichi buried himself in his books and continued working on his notes.
He'd spent so much money; he couldn't let it go to waste.
It was spring break, so there was no school.
The new school year started in April.
And there were five days left until he could overdraft the future again.
Before he knew it, it was noon.
Hearing his mother call him, Shita Genichi looked up and rubbed his dry, gritty eyes.
I never studied this hard in my previous life. But they say urging people to study medicine is enough to get you struck by lightning.
He got up and stretched his stiff body, then went downstairs for lunch.
After eating, Shita Genichi returned to his room to keep studying.
This time, though, he wasn't absorbing medical knowledge but tackling the even more obscure Sealing Jutsu.
The last time he'd visited Namikaze Minato's home, he'd met Jiraiya. Jiraiya hadn't taken him on as a student, but he'd agreed to teach Shita Genichi Sealing Jutsu.
On top of that, Uzumaki Kushina had generously told him he could come to her with questions anytime.
So Shita Genichi had managed to get his hands on a lot of materials about Sealing Jutsu.
Of course, the only Sealing Jutsu he'd gotten from Jiraiya so far was the Evil Sealing Method!
All of these gains could be credited to the Rasengan's royalties.
Naturally, to return the favor, Shita Genichi planned to share his idea for the Wind Style: Rasenshuriken in a while.
He wasn't going to train in it himself, but that didn't stop him from coming up with the idea.
Jiraiya was a good fit. Since he knew Senjutsu, he could throw the Wind Style: Rasenshuriken even if it wasn't perfect.
For Shita Genichi, trading a jutsu he couldn't use yet for access to other jutsu was well worth it.
Besides, giving it away now didn't mean he couldn't use it himself once he was capable of doing so.
After lunch, Shita Genichi went out for a stroll.
Once he'd walked off his meal, he headed to his usual training spot.
Before long, he heard a familiar voice.
It was Might Guy.
Shita Genichi smiled faintly and continued training, drawing his blade again and again.
The closer it got to the day he would overdraft the future, the harder Shita Genichi trained.
Just like a hopeless student cramming the night before an exam.
Time flew by, and soon it was March 18, Year 42 of Konoha.
In Shita Genichi's mind, the [Overdraft the Next Ten Years] option on the Overdraft Panel, which had been gray, had lit up.
Lying in bed, Shita Genichi took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Future, I hope you won't let all my hard work this past year go to waste!"
Overdraft the next ten years!
As the Overdraft Panel burst into a purple glow, Shita Genichi's mind went blank. Every cell in his body began to tremble as if jolted by electricity.
A moment later, Shita Genichi's eyelids twitched, and he opened his eyes. "It wasn't ten years again..."
The last time he'd overdrafted ten years of the future, it hadn't actually been ten years—only six.
This time, it was eight.
By his reckoning, that meant until Year 50 of Konoha.
Shita Genichi couldn't tell whether his future self had died in the Third Shinobi World War or during the Nine-Tails Incident.
Of course, he might have died while working with Orochimaru.
This time, some of the gains from overdrafting ten years of the future had clearly come from Orochimaru.
"I've worked this hard, and even with a cheat, I still died again. I didn't even make it ten years."
Shita Genichi looked grim.
But it showed just how dangerous a ninja's life was.
