Background / History

Childhood in the Ancient Clan

The simulator's account of Xun'er's childhood identifies her as an exceptionally pure-blooded descendant of the Ancient Clan. At birth, Gu Yuan seals the fourth-ranked Golden Emperor Burning Heaven Flame inside her. Its violent energy overwhelms her fragile meridians, requiring medicinal baths and pills to strengthen her body. Her early life consists largely of cultivation, bodily treatment, and learning to control the flame 3.

In the simulation's fourth year, Gu Yuan brings her to the Xiao Family and gives her an unspecified task. She is puzzled that the Xiao Clan, described by her father as one of the eight ancient clans, has declined so severely 3.

Arrival at the Xiao Family

Gu Yuan personally accompanies Xun'er to Wutan City. After Xiao Yan declines to show her around because he wants to cultivate, Gu Yuan selects Xiao Chen instead 1.

Following an eight-year time skip, Xun'er remains close to Xiao Chen. When he announces a long journey, she offers to have Ling Ying accompany him. Xiao Chen refuses, but she privately considers sending the guard anyway, a protective tactic she learned from books 19.
