There was no helping it. He had already reached heights that others could never reach in their lifetimes. Never mind that he could not work hard in the first place—even if he could, why should he? Wasn't being a couch potato great?
But precisely because of that, Sogo Doma had evolved into someone who lived for entertainment. After all, he had to find something to do, didn't he?
So, he found himself the role of a spectator. Watching gossip and drama neither interfered with his life as a couch potato nor left him bored—after all, watching drama was human instinct.
And every now and then, he could fan the flames from the sidelines and steer things in the direction he wanted...
Of course, Sogo Doma would not let things get too out of hand. Sometimes, if events truly strayed from the path he had anticipated, he would step in and pull them back on track...
But as a result, people saw him as someone who solved problems, someone who helped others...
Which was incredibly awkward.
In truth, given Sogo Doma's couch-potato personality, he would only act unless someone came after him. For example, hadn't he acquired Undying River and so on because those traditional writers had banded together to boycott him?
As for helping Mai Sakurajima, it was because the strange phenomenon happening to her had genuinely piqued his interest...
And that was one of the few times Sogo Doma had acted on his own
