Club activity time.
Private Toyogasaki, the Oolong Tea Research Club's dedicated activity space—clearly, Principal Yamamoto had put a great deal of thought into currying favor with Sogo Doma. Before Sogo had even gotten around to bringing up the issue of a clubroom, the considerate principal had already picked out an activity room that even the school's most popular clubs would drool over.
Looking at the incomparably spacious activity room, warm in winter and cool in summer thanks to its climate-controlled air conditioning, the club members all became even more determined to seize the president's position—just how highly did the school think of their club to support it this much? If they managed the club well, perhaps they could even get recommendation letters from the school!
If they really got a school recommendation letter, they would be in a completely different class from before...
Driven by profit and the motivation to change their social standing, a bloody battle for the club president's seat seemed about to begin...
As the former president, Sogo Doma walked into the middle of the crowd and came to a long table. He flipped himself onto it, crossed his right leg, and spread his hands. "First, let me make something clear. Everyone here is far too 'outstanding.' Calling you mere 'talents' would be an insult to you all. But with the club being so overflowing with 'talent,' I, as the president, have actually been under a lot of pressure...
"Under that pressure, I couldn't sleep day or night, nor could I eat or drink..." At that point, Sogo paused, took out a thermos from behind him, and took a sip of tea.
The club members: "..."
Hadn't he just said he couldn't eat or drink!? Wasn't lying so blatantly right in front of them a bit much?
