An hour or so earlier.
Worries never plagued fools with ambitions, even if all they pursued was money...
After accepting the fact that he looked terrifying, the short, fat BOSS had already begun fantasizing about how to make a fortune off his natural gifts. Fortunately, Sogo Doma could not bear to watch him stray down the wrong path, so he kindly reminded him:
"Sorry, one more interruption. By talent, I mean you have a talent for playing villains and scaring people. Compared to opening a haunted house, you'd be better off joining the yakuza..."
Unfortunately, despite his imposing appearance, his lack of height left him somewhat lacking in confidence. "Um, um... the y-yakuza? But I hate violence..."
"That's really a shame..." Sogo Doma said perfunctorily. He had only tossed out a suggestion so he could leave; he had not expected the other man to actually go through with it...
"A-a shame!?" Unfortunately, he had still underestimated the man's thought process. Upon hearing the word "shame," something awakened within the short, fat BOSS. "Th-then, sir, do I really have that much talent for the yakuza? Talent so great that it'd be a shame not to join the yakuza... If that's the case, then I, I..."
Sogo Doma: "..."
Was this guy begging to be conned? Could he seriously not tell that Sogo Doma had just been brushing him off? But even he, if he really wanted to fool an idiot like this...
Before he could finish thinking, the short, fat BOSS continued, "R-right, if I enter the yakuza, do I have to go to elementary schools and collect protection money or something? The problem is, dealing with the alarms would be pretty difficult..."
"Why would elementary schoolers be the ones you collect protection money from?" Sogo Doma could not help asking.
