Lawrence's room fell silent.
Lawrence lay back in her chair, facing the ceiling with her eyes closed, one hand unconsciously resting on her forehead as though rubbing her temples.
Roman stood where he was at a loss, not knowing what to say.
The air and the atmosphere sank into silence together.
Roman looked at the door to Lawrence's room, then at Lawrence, and opened his mouth.
His mind was a mess. After glancing at Lawrence twice, he did not dare look at her again.
He did not know how Lawrence had found out, or how she had investigated it, but—
"Lawrence, I..."
No one knew how long the two had remained silent before Roman finally sighed softly and took the initiative to say something.

The instant Roman spoke, several gemstones condensed beside him. They rapidly spun into the form of gem blades, aiming at all his vital points.
Cold sweat instantly froze on his forehead. Roman's body stiffened, and he did not dare move at all.
It was common knowledge that Lawrence was weak in direct combat. Her strength lay elsewhere, but even so, dealing with an ordinary human like him was not a problem.
Lawrence sat upright. She did not look at the frozen Roman, merely revealing a pained and distressed expression.
