Kelpie.
Anno's thoughts were suddenly drawn into memories of the past, but he quickly broke free and shook his head.
Back then... now that he thought about it, it really was hard to put into words.
Shaking his head lightly, Anno could not help recalling that crystal-clear water horse gleaming beneath the sunlight.
He looked toward the lake. He no longer remembered the sensation of magical energy from back then, but...
Could it really have been Kelpie?
After all, that fellow certainly matched Robin's description of being "emotionally rich."
But...
Kelpie was a fairy who cared deeply about the Fairy Realm—very, very deeply.
He was an immensely powerful fairy who ruled over part of the Fairy Realm, yet cared even more about the Fairy Realm as a whole.
It was something akin to how a king cared for his own territory. Probably.
Too much time had passed. Even Anno could no longer remember clearly.
Moreover, Anno knew that during their battle, Kelpie had never come close to using his true abilities.
The water horse and the flood...
For now, he would treat it as a possibility.
But would a fairy who loved the Fairy Realm so much really cause a disaster that endangered two worlds?
Back then, Kelpie had warned him not to "cross the line." And after learning the true nature of fairies, Anno had returned from the central regions of the Fairy Realm to its outskirts. The fairies there were the true enemies of humanity.
In a sense, if not for Kelpie's lesson, Anno might never have developed a heart that truly belonged to humanity. He would never have followed Merlin to Britain and become a knight. Instead, he might have marched toward destruction in endless madness. In that case, perhaps he would have taken the Berserker seat?
