With Merlin's help, Anno bought a male servant and a female servant.
The next day, at the Royal Court of Camelot.
King Uther announced that Anno had become one of his knights, but the news caused no great stir. No clown came forward to cause trouble, and the entire gathering ended simply and uneventfully.
Merlin had disappeared to who knew where.
Anno found an empty spot in a park beside the Royal Court and wanted to calm himself down.
For nearly a year, he had lived with bloodshed almost every day. Now that he had suddenly entered human society, he felt overwhelmed by the pressure. He sat there simply to ease his restlessness a little.
Just then, Anno keenly sensed a faint disturbance nearby.
He instinctively sat up straight, rested a hand on his sword hilt, and looked toward the source of the noise.
Then he suddenly remembered that he was in Camelot, the royal capital. He took his hand off the hilt and let out a heavy sigh.
He still wasn't used to this.
Anno walked over to where the noise had come from and found a little girl, about eight or nine years old, crouched beside a large tree with tears in her eyes.
Why was there a child beside the Royal Court? Anno frowned.
Could she be the king's child?
Morgan le Fay was terribly frightened. She had only been playing in the park when she saw a bearded man in white armor. He had merely glared at her, but that was enough to make her burst into tears.
"Princess Morgan!" someone cried out in alarm.
A maid came rushing over and gathered the little girl into her arms, moving away from Anno as she watched him warily. "Who are you?"
Held in the maid's embrace, Morgan could no longer hold back and began to sob loudly.
Anno awkwardly scratched his head. What was this? On his second day in Camelot, he had already scared the princess into crying? He hurried to explain, "Um, I'm one of the king's knights. I just wanted to clear my head here. I'm sorry."
The maid relaxed. At least he wasn't suspicious. After calming Morgan down, she said to Anno, "My apologies, sir knight."
Anno quickly waved his hands. "No, no. I startled the princess, so I'm the one who should apologize."
To avoid making things even more awkward, he quickly left after speaking.
Morgan peered out from the maid's arms and watched Anno walk away.
That knight was so scary.
On his second day at the Royal Court of Camelot, Anno had already left a "fierce and frightening" impression on the future enchantress, Morgan.
After walking for a while, Anno returned to his lodgings. Ashley Collins, the maid he had bought, had already prepared lunch.
The maid, whose looks were passable, was only fourteen. She stood to one side with her hands held in front of her, her body trembling slightly.
Anno glanced at her and sighed inwardly.
For some reason, he always felt an uneasy sense of discomfort, but no matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn't figure out why.
The maid was responsible for washing Anno's clothes, cooking his meals, and cleaning. If he wanted, he could even ask her to offer her body to him.
But Anno had no intention of doing that.
The other servant, Ruslan Hyde, was responsible for shopping, chopping firewood, and caring for the horses. He was also young, only fifteen.
The two of them came from France and Rome, respectively.
After lunch, Anno decided to exercise for a while. It was one of the few ways to pass the time in this era.
He took off the Treasure Armor the Lady of the Lake had given him and set it aside, then began his daily workout: push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
