"Here."
"Here."
"We're friends now."
The girl Humbaba had become was crouching on the ground, seemingly gathering something.
This was the second time Annanu and Enkidu had heard the word "friends" from Humbaba.
What exactly was it that Humbaba cared about so much?
Annanu wanted to ask, but before it could, it saw Humbaba stand up.
"Look, these are flowers that could bloom because of you."
In Humbaba's hands were flowers.
She had gathered many flowers and woven them into two circles.
What was she going to do with them?
Humbaba walked over barefoot, stood on tiptoe, and placed one of the flower circles on Annanu's head.
Then she went over to Enkidu and beckoned to him—Enkidu was not lying on the ground, so she could not reach him.
Though puzzled, Enkidu still lowered his "head."
Just as she had done for Annanu, Humbaba placed the flower wreath on Enkidu's head.
"Ah—"
"So beautiful."
Humbaba let out a delighted laugh and clapped her hands.
Annanu and Enkidu were a little confused.
But they did not ask.
Because this was [unimportant].
What they needed to do now was fulfill the task the gods had given them—to stay with Humbaba. That was enough.
Observe Humbaba's behavior and analyze Humbaba's psyche.
In order to bring humanity back, understanding humans was necessary.
Still, Annanu had something it hoped for, and Enkidu felt the same.
Those little sparkling things—they wanted to see them again.
Not only because they were a symbol of perfection, but because those things had given Annanu and Enkidu a certain understanding.
Something like—"They're so beautiful."
It was strange, but it was there.
They wanted to see them one more time.
But—
"Those are things that only exist for that single moment."
Humbaba spoke helplessly.
She was a little curious as well.
