Kaderki hid himself in the bushes, watching with a deeply furrowed brow.
His target was feeding, using its sharp snout to tear open the antelope's belly before pulling out its entrails and feasting heartily.
Mushhushshu was the name of this demonic beast.
Kaderki carefully examined the Mushhushshu. After studying it closely, he confirmed it—this was a Mushhushshu that had only recently appeared nearby.
"Damn it, why is there another one?"
He gritted his teeth, his voice carrying a trace of anger.
During this time, he had been able to clearly sense that the Cedar Forest was changing—and changing drastically.
Those two divine beasts from before had merely added two new members to the forest. They had not affected the overall ecology of the Cedar Forest. The only reason he had gone to Uruk to report them to King Gilgamesh was because he could earn a reward that way.
But now...
Not only were relatively ordinary demonic beasts like Uridimmu and Mushhushshu beginning to appear in the Cedar Forest, even things like Bashmu and Ushumgallu had started showing up.
Weren't those things supposed to live in far more distant, primordial forests? Why had they come to the Cedar Forest?
Kaderki had no foolish ideas, but those damned things had already encroached upon his hunting grounds!
That was absolutely hateful!
And more importantly—
He lowered his body and took another careful look at the Mushhushshu.
As it fed, the Mushhushshu kept raising its head to observe the surrounding movements. It was clearly in a state of extreme vigilance.
Every one of those creatures Kaderki had observed had been in the same state.
Wary, even panicked, as if... something had frightened them and driven them out.
What could possibly frighten demonic beasts that were so terrifyingly strong?
Kaderki did not dare think about
