Annanu wandered alone outside the city of Uruk, quietly walking along the border between the forest and the farmland.
It was already afternoon. Sunlight illuminated even the dust, while a gentle breeze lightly stirred Annanu's long hair, making it look as beautiful as molten gold.
A little emerald bird seemed puzzled by Annanu. It circled him twice before landing on his shoulder, gently pecking at his hair twice, then affectionately rubbing its head against him.
A faint smile appeared on Annanu's face. He gently extended a finger and began playing with the little bird.
He was indeed nature's fury, but ultimately, he was still a part of nature. His affinity for all things between heaven and earth had never vanished; it had merely been hidden after he gained a human form and intellect.
He stopped walking, contemplation in his eyes as he looked at the magnificent, beautiful city from outside Uruk.
Humans truly were strange creatures.
Created by the gods, yet not created by the gods, they had appeared upon this land like a miracle. The primates of this planet seemed incomparably close to nature, yet completely out of place within it.
As one of nature's incarnations, how exactly should Annanu view such a race?
His heart gave him the answer—humanity was beautiful, but also ugly.
Humanity was a great and interesting group. That was where Annanu and Enkidu's thoughts came from—they did not wish for humans to simply return to the embrace of the gods. Doing so would undoubtedly kill this race's future and all its intrigue.
Annanu narrowed his eyes.
He had observed them for some time now, and he understood that humans were not creatures meant to live beneath the protection of any god.
He slowly exhaled a breath beneath the sun. The wind swept his hair
