Although Eridu and Uruk were both immensely prosperous cities upon the land of Mesopotamia, there were still striking differences between them—at the very least, their styles were different.
Uruk had been built upon an open plain beside the water. It was incredibly spacious; from atop its walls, one could see everything in every direction.
Eridu, meanwhile, was a city built within a dense forest. Water flowed beside it as well, greenery flourished everywhere, and the entire city had blended into the forest.
