Hahahahahahahahahaha.
Another chapter where I completely failed to keep the word count under control.
At first, I planned for two hundred thousand words. Then I thought three hundred thousand would be about right. Now it was nearing four hundred thousand, making it the second-largest arc in the whole book.
It felt like my ability to control word counts was getting worse and worse.
But no matter what, the Fifth Holy Grail War, completely different from the original work, had come to an end.
I dug quite a few holes, and I don't plan to fill them, because in a sense, that was the blank space I chose to leave for you to imagine.
For example, what Sakumura did to help Bazett and Kirei Kotomine's love; whether Caren was ultimately saved and got to live with her father; whether little Sakura or Illya became the heroine of this storyline; just how much of a headache the four "geniuses" would give El-Melloi II; and whether El-Melloi II and Gray ended up together.
A lot of things could have continued to be written, but this arc was, after all, the [Fifth Holy Grail War], so I had no intention of extending it further.
Many things that should originally have happened much later were brought forward to this period by me, such as the dismantling of the Greater Grail. I'm not sure how well I wrote it, but in my story plan, these were the things that were supposed to happen at this stage.
So, the Fifth War was over.
The story ahead would focus on Fate/Grand Order.
The next arc.
