Within the Light Screen's footage, a slender figure in white darted like a phantom through the steel jungle of a neon-lit city.
It was Kiana—the form taken by the girl who was going to save this city.
To a brisk BGM, the girl moved like an agile afterimage through the steel jungle. No obstacle could halt her steps. Like the most skilled parkour runner, she weaved between the towering structures in all sorts of dazzling ways, while the Herrscher of the Void's power allowed her to shift through space whenever necessary.
The laboratory was dozens of kilometers from the city center, yet in a short time, the girl had closed to within two kilometers of the central tower.
This area was effectively Sky Dome City's core district, home to countless bustling commercial streets and food stalls. As Kiana moved through it, she inevitably caught the attention of people enjoying the nightlife.
Though the darkness made it impossible to see clearly, a fleeting glimpse was still enough.
A little girl in her mother's arms spotted Kiana leaping between two buildings and exclaimed in surprise, "Mommy, look! Someone's flying!"

As Kiana neared the central building, she encountered an obstacle.
They were mechs placed there by World Serpent. Their models resembled Anti-Entropy's Titan Mechs, and they possessed optical camouflage systems. When motionless, they remained invisibly concealed atop high places. Once Kiana approached, they revealed themselves one by one and launched an ambush to stop her.
Facing these sudden enemies, Kiana stood atop a building and looked at the Titan Mechs ahead, taking a deep breath. "Hmph, so you've come..."
Then she raised a hand.
