Samurai garb, long hair tied in a single ponytail, a handsome face—he possessed the air of an ancient wandering swordsman, yet also carried the noble bearing of the aristocracy.

A graceful young nobleman, an unparalleled swordsman.

That was the impression given by the young samurai standing at the entrance to Ryudou Temple.

The weapon in his hand was a slender katana over two meters long, reflecting a chilling, lethal gleam beneath the moonlight.

The instant people saw this samurai, they knew he had to be a Heroic Spirit—a native Heroic Spirit of Yingzhou. Those familiar with Yingzhou's history and biographies immediately began to speculate about his identity.

In truth, this samurai's image was highly distinctive.

A handsome, beautiful face; calm and elegant nobility; peerless, chilling sword intent; and that slender katana.

Every single detail pointed to a renowned swordsman from Yingzhou's native legends.

However, that swordsman did not exist in history. He existed only in another man's biographical tales, recorded as that man's powerful opponent.

Thus, when people considered the possible identity of the samurai in the Light Screen, they found it hard to believe.

Because he was Sasaki Kojiro!

A swordsman said to have lived during Yingzhou's Warring States period and Azuchi-Momoyama period, known as Ganryu, a disciple of Tomita Seigen who had also studied martial arts under Kanemaki Jisai of the Chujo-ryu school.

He had traveled across Yingzhou to hone his martial skills and founded his own school by himself.

Legend held that he was a handsome man skilled in wielding a three-shaku longsword. Because its blade was exceptionally long and possessed a broad attack range, even swallows flying through the sky were supposedly unable to escape its reach, and would be cleaved in two. Thus, his ultimate technique was named 'Tsubame Gaeshi.'
