Its important status meant a thriving economy. Ever since Dekalaman had been designated Saint Masente's exclusive diplomatic planet for foreign relations, its economy had undergone leaps of development, each one on the scale of a century.
What had once been merely a city carved out of the Glimmering Forest had, under the development of agents from major merchant guilds, become a highly distinctive cluster of cities.
Dekalaman, now a hundred times more prosperous than before, erupted into celebration once again today. Today, May 1, marked the day Saint Masente ended the war between the Galactic Empire and the Bordeaux Galaxy; the day the two great galaxies submitted to Saint Masente and joined the Puslan Federation; and Saint Masente's first major victory since unifying the Pusilan Star Region!
It was said that the Elf Race's Empress even intended to designate this day as the Federation's National Day. Of course, that was only a rumor, and whether it would actually happen remained to be seen.

Though it meant that ninety percent of their remaining lives would likely be tied to this planet, they could bring benefits to their families, glory to their relatives, and enjoy a position of immense public attention where their words carried great weight. Losing some freedom was hardly a concern.
