"Fuck! I can't keep doing Human Transmutation! I think I'm starting to enjoy this!"
Wang Zhen had lost count of how many times he'd performed Human Transmutation. He just knew he was starting to enjoy this cycle of self-mutilation... bloodsucking... recovery... and then self-mutilation again. The whole thing seemed pretty twisted!
He'd even used up the blood in the extra-large steel drum beside him—the one big enough to hold a person—five times over!
Too much of anything was bad!
That was true of everything!
Wang Zhen knew he'd started to go a little overboard just now!
Luckily, the blood he'd been using to restore his body had run out at just the right moment. That brought him back from his extreme excitement and restored his reason and composure!
"Selene, have I changed in any noticeable way?" Wang Zhen felt a little different, but couldn't see anything himself, so he asked Selene directly.
"Master, take a look! Your hair has turned dark red, and your canine teeth have grown longer and sharper..."
Wang Zhen looked at the mirror Selene held up. Just as she'd said, his appearance had changed a little, but not drastically. He still didn't look so unusual that people would take one glance and think he was some kind of freak.
"Dead River... come forth!"
Wang Zhen gave a light stomp. The Philosopher's Stone Transmutation Circle spread outward from beneath his feet, expanding to a radius of about thirty meters in the blink of an eye.
Wang Zhen had Selene toss the byproducts of Human Transmutation—the Homunculus larvae that looked like Cthulhu monsters—into his Dead River, which was also a Philosopher's Stone Transmutation Circle.
He wanted to see what would happen when he threw the Homunculus larvae he'd gotten by exploiting Infinite Space into the Dead River. What would this special ability, unique to Alucard's lineage, that could turn living things into "lives," transform them into?
And what would happen to them when his Dead River ability was a Philosopher's Stone Transmutation Circle?
Wang Zhen watched the Homunculus larvae, which looked like Cthulhu monsters, enter the Philosopher's Stone Transmutation Circle. They were immediately engulfed by its crimson radiance, and at the same time, the circle began to turn slowly. The red glow grew brighter and brighter...
Wang Zhen began pouring his mental energy into the circle, speeding up its rotation. After all, anyone who saw this scene would want to exorcise evil and destroy demons!
Perhaps there were only a few dozen Homunculus larvae, so the circle took just a few minutes to turn the writhing Cthulhu monsters scattered across the ground into eyeballs.
At the sight of the eyeballs littering the ground, Wang Zhen's temples began to throb violently!
A headache!
A really bad headache!
Although these were a little easier on the eyes than the writhing worm monsters from before, they still had that Cthulhu look!
So they were only a little easier on the eyes!
And no more than that!
When he casually picked up one of the eyeballs, he realized just how bizarre it was!
Its pupil was an Ouroboros pattern made up of abstract geometric shapes, while the rest of the eyeball was completely white. What a bizarre eye!
"This eyeball... is called an Ouroboros Eye... It's actually alive? Is this the real Homunculus, while those Cthulhu-like worm monsters are just its distorted mutations, caused by its inability to adapt to the world's rules?"
"Just as a Philosopher's Stone can substitute for matter, can this substitute for a Transmutation Circle? But each eye can only substitute for one kind of circle?"
At first, Wang Zhen thought that compared to the Homunculus, whose natural abilities were extraordinarily powerful, the Ouroboros Eye wasn't much use. After all, he could instantly produce Transmutation Circles by exploiting Infinite Space.
But Wang Zhen soon thought of an idea he'd shelved earlier! It required combining a large number of Transmutation Circles. Although he could produce them instantly, stacking and combining multiple circles still took a great deal of mental energy. So he'd been searching for a way to combine multiple circles perfectly.
And now he had it!
Wang Zhen looked at the dozens of Ouroboros Eyes. They were certainly quite the sight, but even he had to admit that if this thing really could make his idea work, he'd have to say, from the bottom of his heart, "You're ugly, but you're gentle!"
Wang Zhen gathered all the Ouroboros Eyes and put them in a bag, then headed back with Selene.
"Selene, make me four guns in this shape and with these specifications! The materials have to be sturdy enough, and resistant to both high and low temperatures, electricity, and impact. Basically, I want them highly resistant to everything!"
"No problem!"
Wang Zhen lay back down on the recliner to rest while he waited for Selene to finish making the guns. "If the Ouroboros Eyes fit my idea, they won't just greatly increase my strength; they'll also extend my attack range and give me a much wider variety of ways to attack!"
Selene worked quickly. Before long, she came over carrying four unusually long handguns with an exaggerated, imposing design.
Two were Casull (white) and Casull (black)—the black-and-white guns Alucard used in Hellsing.
The other two were upgraded Remington 1875 revolvers. (The guns used by the gunslinger in The Dark Tower.)
Wang Zhen picked them up one by one to try them out. Although he really liked the two Casulls, Alucard's signature black-and-white guns, they were so famous and appeared so often that they were almost as iconic as Dante's Ebony & Ivory from Devil May Cry.
But after drinking Alucard's blood, turning into a vampire, and gaining his own Dead River ability, Wang Zhen had changed his mind!
Wang Zhen no longer wanted anything to do with Alucard. He'd even given up on cosplaying as him, so he didn't want to use Alucard's signature guns either!
Even though the Casulls were more imposing and wild, Wang Zhen set them down reluctantly and picked up the two Remington 1875 revolvers, modified with swing-out cylinders. These guns were especially popular in Hollywood Westerns, and lots of cowboys used them in movies. But what really made them famous was the fantasy film The Dark Tower, in which the gunslinger played by Idris Elba showed off his modified Remington 1875 revolvers with incredible flair. Practically every short video about revolver shooting or gun-fu featured that gunslinger's revolver skills!
"Stylish!"
"Cool!"
"Stylish and cool!"
Wang Zhen held a Remington 1875 in each hand, and immediately felt the thrill!
Maybe the Remington 1875 wasn't as imposing and wild as the Casulls, but it was incredibly stylish and cool—undeniably both!
So Wang Zhen had made up his mind!
These were the ones!
After all, looking stylish was a lifelong pursuit!
